Subcommittee Hearing: Ethiopia After Meles: The Future of Democracy and Human Rights

Editor’s Note: House Committee on Foreign Affairs is going to have a hearing on June 20, 2013 at 10:00 am Eastern Time. The hearing is about Ethiopia after Meles on the future of democracy and human rights in Ethiopia.
Most of us should aware of the fact that such a hearing is not going to happen by chance. People have worked hard to set this agenda for the Subcommittee hearing. Our sleepless and restless opposition activists have labored day and night to make this possible.
Our dear friend who has stuck by us in thick and thin, Congressman Chris Smith, has played a critical role to set the agenda on Ethiopia. We should all send our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for his effort to help bring about freedom and democracy in Ethiopia.
Dr. Berhanu Nega, chairman of Ginbot 7,  and Mr. Obang Metto of SMNE will be among the witnesses on the panel.
Can you imagine how far Ethiopia has fallen in the last 22 years? Watch the historical witnessing by colonel Goshu Wolde at the time. It was a stunning combination of passion, clarity of points, confidence, dignity, and command of the English language. It is this kind of quality witnessing that will produce results.
